Brenda Isenberg grew up in Queens and in a brownstone on the Upper West
Side of Manhattan, as well as in New Delhi, India. She currently lives
in Richmond, Virginia with her husband and classmate from her India years
- Joe King - and teaches drawing and painting at The Visual Arts Center of Richmond, a local non-profit, where she has also exhibited.
She studied at the Art Students League of New York with Robert Beverly
Hale and Daniel Greene. Ms. Isenberg earned her BS from the State University
of New York, Empire State College, and her MFA from the New York Academy
of Art. At the NYAA, Ms. Isenberg studied with Vincent Desiderio, Martha
Mayer Erlbacher, Harvey Citron, Eve Mansdorf, Petrillo, Edward Schmidt,
Jon DeMartin, and others.
Ms. Isenberg spent 14 years as a graphic artist, and eventually vice president,
at Merrill Lynch in the World Financial Center, while she brought up her
son, Ben.
